Ian Watson“On the 18 March our lives changed forever when our youngest colleague took his own life in one of our fields. This was a case very close to home for many of us, the response from LRSN was immediate. Support to our bereaved team was instant, with the LRSN team being on site in less than 24 hours to support us all. That support has been ongoing since March and has been a huge help to us all in our coming to terms with the situation. We could not have dealt with our grief without LRSN.”

John Oates“I couldn’t do without them, if Gilly rang and said we’re not coming anymore, I’d be devastated. I’ve no family, so this help means everything to me. I’m still here, but I know I wouldn’t be if it wasn’t for LRSN. I feel so vulnerable, and it frightens me.”

Richard Kew“Life is like a game of snakes and ladders, and I came to a period in my life where there were a lot of snakes and not many ladders to climb, but by talking to Alison, she put the ladders back in for me. So I’ve managed to scramble back up on to a level, and I should say instead of being zero I’m about a six or seven on the ladder, so that’s good!”

Tom Watson“It has been the best thing I did, I think if I hadn’t done it then I’d still be bottling it all up inside and probably not be the same person.”

John Brogan“I can’t remember how I got in touch with LRSN, but when I did, I wasn’t in a very good place. I was stressed, money was beyond tight, and I wasn’t managing to keep up with the bills that were coming in. But LRSN came down and talked through my finances, and she said I think we can help you, and she did. She found me a grant and that helped me with some bills and buy some feed, it helped a lot. LRSN put me in touch with people who could help me. I’ve stayed in touch with LRSN ever since.”

Jess“I had counselling, just to talk things over, to say things I didn’t want to say to my family. Without LRSN I wouldn’t have been able to get through it, they gave me a safety line to say whatever was on my mind.”

Steve“I had a bit of a meltdown and talked to LRSN and I’m pleased now that I did because honestly speaking, I probably wouldn’t be here today. If it hadn’t been for LRSN, who knows what would have happened. I really appreciate them, all of them. They make the time; the effort, nothing is too much time for them.”

Richard“I was at rock bottom; I thought I was so happy but then things were actually so bad. Without LRSN’s help, without that someone that you can turn to and talk to whenever you feel like you need to pick up the phone, nobody will judge you, nobody will get angry with you, and nobody will cry with you. They just talk sense and give you an impartial spin. I can’t thank them enough.”
