It’s always #TimeToTalk with LRSN’s campaign driven to put a stop to rural communities feeling isolated.

Tackling loneliness and isolation in agriculture and horticulture in Lincolnshire, together.
LRSN launched the #TimeToTalk campaign to tackle the issue of loneliness and isolation in the agricultural and horticultural communities in Lincolnshire. We would like to see people getting together, organising events, reaching out to friends and neighbours, we challenge you to take a selfie with your friends and post it to the LRSN social media. Let’s get as many people as possible in agriculture and horticulture taking time to talk to each other.

“Having the LRSN TimeToTalk frame with us at events helps to initiate conversations with people about the importance of talking informally. Once they are in the selfie frame, it allows them to express their thoughts and feelings. I think everyone would agree that talking is important, it’s just some people don’t know how to start the conversation.”

Dot Brooke-Taylor, LRSN Volunteer

Working in agriculture or horticulture can be an incredibly lonely profession, hours spent on your own can have a huge impact on your mental health. Poor mental health doesn’t mean that you suffer from an undiagnosed mental health condition, talking to someone can help improve your mental health whether that person is a friend, a colleague, or a listening ear from LRSN.
Let’s work together to help reduce loneliness and isolation in our community, we at LRSN challenge you to organise a night out, a coffee date, afternoon tea, or just to make a phone call to that friend you haven’t spoken to in a while. Let’s get Lincolnshire talking.
