LRSN has officially launched its awareness campaign, “Driving Hope,” aimed at raising awareness of LRSN and its helpline, supporting the agricultural and horticultural communities one journey at a time.

LRSN are looking for companies to join the Driving Hope campaign alongside trailblazers Craven Transport and help to spread awareness across the county one mile at a time.

Emma Billings, Partnership Coordinator at LRSN, said:

“Driving Hope is about bringing people together to create meaningful change. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us continue providing essential support to those who need it most.”

Awareness raised through the Driving Hope campaign will help LRSN to continue to walk shoulder-to-shoulder with those in the agricultural and horticultural communities and allied industries in Lincolnshire, supporting them at every step. Through offering practical, emotional and business support, one-to-one support and guidance tailored to individual circumstances, we help to encourage resilience for the future.

Other local haulage businesses have already pledged their support to the Driving Hope campaign, the LRSN team encourage more businesses to participate and help increase awareness. To find out how to get involved with The Driving Hope campaign, email info@lrsn.co.uk

Remember your loved one

Is there someone you care about, someone that you want to honour or remember? The Lincolnshire Rural Charities, Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, Lincolnshire Rural & Agricultural Chaplaincy and Lincolnshire Rural Support Network, have joined together to care, honour and remember those in Lincolnshire’s agricultural and horticultural communities that are no longer with us. Our fields of corn project allows you the opportunity to celebrate your loved ones near and far.

The ears of corn will be displayed in the garden of contemplation at this year’s Lincolnshire Show, a space devoted to thinking about, remembering and honouring our friends and family from the agricultural and rural communities. You can purchase an ear of corn for just £40 and dedicate it to that someone you care about, that someone you want to honour or remember, as well as supporting the rural communities in Lincolnshire through the rural charities. The best thing about the ears of corn is that you can collect yours following the Lincolnshire Show and take it home to display in your very own garden, a tribute that will last forever.

The ears of corn stand approximately 90cm tall and are made in Lincolnshire by local blacksmith, Cameron Huggins based in Redbourne. Each one is individually made and can have a name or initials stamped into the reverse of the ear.

Click here to purchase an ear of corn in memory of your loved one, friend or family member. (Please be aware that there is an optional donation amount to blackbaud on the payment page, this can be reduced to zero. This optional amount does not support the charities.)

Blowing in the breeze. Heads bowing as you walk by. Remember that your loved one, is always close by.

It’s always #TimeToTalk with LRSN’s campaign driven to put a stop to rural communities feeling isolated.

Tackling loneliness and isolation in agriculture and horticulture in Lincolnshire, together.
LRSN launched the #TimeToTalk campaign to tackle the issue of loneliness and isolation in the agricultural and horticultural communities in Lincolnshire. We would like to see people getting together, organising events, reaching out to friends and neighbours, we challenge you to take a selfie with your friends and post it to the LRSN social media. Let’s get as many people as possible in agriculture and horticulture taking time to talk to each other.

“Having the LRSN TimeToTalk frame with us at events helps to initiate conversations with people about the importance of talking informally. Once they are in the selfie frame, it allows them to express their thoughts and feelings. I think everyone would agree that talking is important, it’s just some people don’t know how to start the conversation.”

Dot Brooke-Taylor, LRSN Volunteer

Working in agriculture or horticulture can be an incredibly lonely profession, hours spent on your own can have a huge impact on your mental health. Poor mental health doesn’t mean that you suffer from an undiagnosed mental health condition, talking to someone can help improve your mental health whether that person is a friend, a colleague, or a listening ear from LRSN.
Let’s work together to help reduce loneliness and isolation in our community, we at LRSN challenge you to organise a night out, a coffee date, afternoon tea, or just to make a phone call to that friend you haven’t spoken to in a while. Let’s get Lincolnshire talking.
