An interactive wellbeing workshop for women connected to farming and horticultural life.
Women in families involved in these two demanding industries often carry significant responsibility, both practically and emotionally. They support businesses through unpredictable seasons, manage households alongside agricultural demands, and frequently prioritise everyone else’s needs above their own. Many acknowledge that they are running on little more than caffeine and determination, resorting to emotional eating and other self-destructive habits.
Strong Enough for the Long Haul is a two-hour wellbeing workshop led by therapist and radio presenter Anna Yates. The session offers practical, grounded support tailored to the realities of rural living and includes guided discussion, practical strategies and a calming hypnosis relaxation session designed to restore steadiness and self-trust.
The workshop explores:
• Confidence beyond appearance
• Hormonal changes and their impact on mood and energy
• Eating for strength and emotional stability rather than weight loss
• Preventing burnout in demanding seasons
• Small, sustainable shifts that protect long-term wellbeing
Supporting the wellbeing of women within farming and horticultural communities is an important part of wider rural mental health awareness. When women are better supported physically and emotionally, families and businesses are stronger and more resilient. This workshop provides a safe and respectful space to begin that conversation. It is not a diet-focused event. It is a down-to-earth, supportive session aimed at sustaining the woman who helps sustain everything and everyone else. All ages welcome.
