Sarah PoucherLincolnshire Rural Support Network (LRSN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Gibson as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Lisa will join the charity on 21st September 2026.
LRSN has been walking alongside Lincolnshire’s farming community since 1999, offering practical, emotional and business support to people working in agriculture, horticulture and allied industries.
At the heart of LRSN’s work is a simple belief: no one should have to face difficult times alone. Whether through its confidential helpline, one-to-one support, health screening, or talks, visits and training, the charity works alongside people to provide support that is shaped around their individual circumstances.
Lisa brings many years of experience working in the charitable and community sector. She has worked at Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire Mind (CPSL Mind) for more than five years, most recently as Head of Services, Innovation and Business Development.
Her work has included developing and delivering mental health support across voluntary, community and statutory organisations, with a strong focus on putting people at the centre. She has also led the development of training to help individuals and organisations challenge stigma and promote good mental wellbeing.
Before joining CPSL Mind, Lisa worked as a Social Prescribing Lead and at St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice.
Originally from Lancashire, Lisa has lived in Lincolnshire for 20 years. She grew up in a farming community, and farming has also been a big part of her father’s family, giving her a personal connection to the rural communities LRSN supports.
For Lisa, the words “people matter” are more than a phrase, they are at the heart of how she approaches her work.
“I’m really looking forward to joining LRSN and getting to know the people who make the charity what it is. I have a lot to learn, and my first priority will be listening; to staff, volunteers, supporters and most importantly, the people and communities we are here to support.
Having grown up in a farming community, I know that farming is about so much more than a job. It is about family, community, a way of life and a deep connection to the land.
I feel very fortunate to be joining LRSN and to have the opportunity to contribute to the wonderful work that is already being done. I’m excited to get to know people, understand what matters to them and in time, find ways that I can make a positive difference.”
Lisa takes over from Amy Thomas, who has been Head of Charity at LRSN for five years. Lisa and Amy have crossed paths previously through various charity events and have often discussed ways to collaborate.
LRSN Chair Matthew Phillips said:
“We’re really pleased to welcome Lisa to LRSN. She brings a wealth of experience, but just as importantly, she shares our belief that people must always be at the heart of what we do. Her own connection to farming and rural communities makes this a particularly special appointment for us.
We’re very much looking forward to Lisa getting to know our staff, volunteers, supporters and the communities we work alongside. We know there is a lot for her to discover, and we want to give her the time and space to listen and learn.
We’d also like to thank Amy sincerely for everything she has given to LRSN. She has made a real difference to the charity and the people we support, and we wish her every happiness for the future.”
